PSA Magazine Ad Campaign

design-for-good Reading opens the doors to adventures beyond our own imagination. Our class was assigned to create a public service announcement type advertising campaign. Rather than saving the whales or repeating the age old “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” in a new way, I decided I’d encourage a new generation to read the classic stories that I myself am fond of. My ad campaign thus focused on conveying the vastness of information and inspiration stored inside stories and books. I did this by playing off the idea that books open doors into other worlds, similar to the wardrobe in the Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S. Lewis. I used a roughly hand-drawn look for the typography and symbols surrounding a series of rustic door accessories to convey the feeling more thoroughly.
